Old texts say that a number of hugs are needed each day to maintain our emotional balance. A hug is the best massage we can give to our heart. A Tantra hug is yet another opportunity for Enquiry.
Hug as a therapy is not unique of the TAO and Tantra methodologies of life. Gestalt therapy before it became formalised did not have any conflict with risk of transference. Other therapies feel that a hug or any form of physical contact between therapist and client will help small transgressions that can lead to violence.
A good tantra practitioner has no fear of "transference". Becoming totally free of emotional disturbance fear and insecurities is part and parcel of our very Tantra training Self Development.
Our role as Tantra practitioners is to capture the flow whilst being fully present. This is not an intellectual presence, this is an intuitive knowing.
Like a mirror we create the necessary awareness through which the seeker comes into recognition of what arises.
Hugging therapy is another simple way to point our attention to the self. We close our session with contemplation. This session is ideal for group situation. A one to one session is also offered here at the temple.
